“What Should Mommy Write Today?”

Standard

I posed this question to my ever wise 4 year old.  Here is her suggestion for a blog post:

“We are coloring today!”

And now, she is going to type her name:

sarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh well, due to an incident with an overactive R key, we gave up with a sigh and a “I’m not good at writing my name!”   pause… “I think I’ll try again.”

Sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

“I’m not even good at this!”  *Sigh* “Oh no…”

“Wanna try again?”

“Well, ok.”

Sarah

“Hey!  I AM good at this!”

Teaching perseverance is such a painstaking effort.  I think I’m almost suffering as much as she is!   But when all is said and done, that look of success and pride in her own effort is well worth any hemming and hawing, and disappointed sighs that led up to it!  Here is hoping this lesson leads to many good successes in her life!

Last but not least, she has decided to take her success a step further and write Emma’s name:

EMMA

About measureofagift

I am a mother of a growing group of sweet kids. We laugh, we cry, and we grow together in Christ. Every day is a new adventure. I love chocolate, sticky kisses, quirky smiles, and funny qoutables my kids come up with. :) Belly giggles, snuggling, and homeschooling round out the list of loves. Not every day is easy, but every day IS a beautiful gift. Our life as a family is slowly changing and growing as a result of a renewed interest in God's Word. His influence has been a slow process of sanctification, and this blog is evidence of it. Past posts, and current posts have changed in tone and goal, and are a testimony of all that has changed in our lives. <3 "Now, All glory to God who is able through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we could ask or think." Eph 3:20

    • HAHAHA! Thanks Van! I hope she aces it for sure, since we’ll probably decimate other peoples cars meanwhile… (during that perseverance practice stage…) It’ll be ok, we’ll only practice near people’s houses we don’t like.
