We had a grand time, dressing up as Ballerinas this morning to take Ava to the doctor. The tutu’s and sparkles were flying all over, and lots of jumping, screaming, and laughing ensued!
“Mommy, can I squeeze you?” (trying to squeeze onto a chair with not enough room)
“Can I pet him? Can I pet Ava? Can I pet his heeeeeaaaaaddddd? Can I pet his haaaaaaaaannnnddddd? Can I pet his baaaaaack?” (we haven’t quite understood that pronouns can be male AND female. Everyone is a boy right now)
And today EVERYONE was Mr. I was Mr. Mom, and Mr. Lilly, (the dance teacher from Angelina Ballerina. Which, Emma was a ballerina today, so I was Mr. Lilly) Our (female) Doctor was Mr. Doctor. Its been fun…
We’ve been going through a “just like Mom” phase, where somebody talks just like Mom!
Setting the table at supper time is one of Sarah’s daily chores. Tonight’s performance featured this little gem:
“ Mom, I set the table and got the drinks, but you and Dad can get your OWN water!”
I regret to inform the world, that with the new arrival of Miss Ava Grace, my housekeeping leaves a bit to be desired. I was reminded of this explicitly tonight. Overheard:
“Ugh, Mom, its STINKY in here! We need to clean!”
Have I said lately how much I love my kids? The ‘behind the hand’ laughter is alive and well in our house!
